Bonneville Online School Partners With Award-Winning Online Program Connects Students Across the States

Idaho Falls (Idaho) — Students in Bonneville Online School’s innovative program now have a new option to develop their leadership, critical thinking, and connection to ambitious peers and engaging mentors across the United States. Bonneville, a school that believes “Innovative Learning for Each Individual,” recently announced a partnership with Williamsburg Academy, an online curriculum provider that has won multiple awards for its rigorous and compelling courses and instructional methods, which include project-based learning and the Socratic Method. Students taking Williamsburg courses attend live, online class sessions with students from around the country. Full-time students taking Williamsburg courses average in the 75th percentile nationally on the ACT, have been admitted to prestigious colleges such as Northwestern, BYU, the London School of Economics, Yale’s Business School, Harvard, and more, and in 2016 two of 300 national semifinalists in the National Honor Society Scholarship program were taking Williamsburg courses full-time (last year, only one student from the State of Idaho was selected as a semi-finalist).

Shelley Andrus, principal of Bonneville Online’s K-8 program, is one of Idaho’s first online elementary educators.  “In 14 years of virtual instruction, I have not seen a program that comes close to what Williamsburg achieves.  They have combined the best practices of engaging live teaching, with the flexibility of virtual learning, and the power of curriculum driven by original sources.”  Corey Telford, the new director of Bonneville Online High School believes this partnership will serve Bonneville students well. “We are thrilled to bring this powerful college preparatory program to Idaho students through Bonneville Online School.”

Students who live in Southeastern Idaho, as far east as Jerome, north to Sun Valley, and east to Idaho Falls, may access Williamsburg courses by enrolling at Bonneville Online School ("Bonneville").
